Raise the Roof

I got a raise today! Hells yeah! I also changed the tire on the delivery car AGAIN. Boo-ra! Oh well. At least this time it wasn't -45. It's been nice here recently. everything has started to melt, which is cool, but everything's gonna look real dirty and gross until it gets warm enough for things to start growing, and we have a couple good rains to wash away all the shit that the snow leaves behind when it melts.

Speaking of stuff left behind when the snow melts, my roommate Arlan informed me a couple of days ago that he's been chucking random crap into the backyard all winter, so when the snow melts, I'm gonna make him go pick it all up. Well, first I'm gonna go see whether or not there's anything good back there, and THEN I'm gonna make him pick it all up. Then I'll probably light a huge fire in the fire pit out back and invite all my friends over to drink beer and cook hotdogs. YES! I can't WAIT for the snow to melt!

Spring out with your thing out,

Yay!

I found a new thing that I like! As usual, I will now share it with you. go here to check it out.

ps You know what pisses me off? Whenever I type in the "labels" for my posts, Blogger automatically inserts a space everytime you hit the comma button, which totally throws me off, because I KNOW WHEN I NEED A GODDAMN SPACE. When Blogger puts one in for me, I wind up with extra spaces, which I then have to go back and remove, and as you well know, I HATE minor inconveniences. Hate them to HELL.

Blogger: constantly finding new ways to honk me off ever so slightly.

Guitar Breakthrough

I was trying to teach myself how to play "Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding just now, and my brain amazed me by figuring something out without me telling it to! Toally on accident! I won't bore you with the particulars, because I don't think that anybody that reads this blog plays the guitar, but I basically figured out a different way to play the necessary chords. Not only was this different way a whole lot easier, it also sounded WAY better! That's AWESOME! I'm especially excited about this not because I can play a new song, but that this new bit of nollij can be applied to other songs I know, or songs that I will know in the future. I didn't just get better at "Dock of the Bay", I just became a better guitar player. I still suck, sure, but it's been a while since I felt like I was improving at anything.

More later. I gotta go practice.

Xavier Rudd

I went and saw Xavier Rudd with Jordan, Anne, and Kirk, and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to in my life. The crowd was really into it, and he played all the stuff I wanted to hear, and MAN is he amazing! I really can't do his performance justice by trying to describe it to you, so all I can do is tell you that if you have a chance to see him, do it.

I'm finally feeling a little better. The crippling illness has faded into something resembling a cold. I'm still coughing up gross stuff, but even though I'm still sick, I feel awesome compared to how I felt last week, so no complaints.

The weather has turned back to "awesome" again, so tomorrow I'm gonna do something outside, 'cause I don't know how long it's gonna last.

Stand tall, y'all,

T.

Sick

I've come down with one of those nasty bugs that have been making the rounds lately, and I feel like hot garbage. I missed work yesterday; that's the first time I've called in sick to a job in nearly a decade. (Acually, I called in sick once this summer, but I wasn't actually sick. I was just pissed off at my boss.)

I slept for nearly 20 hours yesterday, and today I feel a little better. I still feel a long way from good, but I'm hoping that by monday I'll be well enough to make it to hockey.

Hope you're feeling better than I am,

T.
