La Mer

I didn't know this until today, but Bobby Darin's "Beyond the Sea" was originally this song by Charles Trenet. Ah, internet. What can't you teach me?

I need ideas for how to spend my Christmas money that my dad gave me. Send in your suggestions, and if I like your idea, I'll use my money on it. If I don't like your idea, I'll punch you real hard in the shoulder next time I see you.* The winning idea gets a prize! If nobody sends me an idea that I really like, I'll probably just spend the money on pizza, beer, and videogames, so keep in mind that your idea has to be better than pizza, beer, and videogames. Good luck topping that.

T.

*by sending me your idea, you agree that I get to punch you if I don't like it, and you aren't allowed to hit me back or seek revenge against me in any other way, ever.

Weekend

I had a pretty good weekend. I hung out with my roommates and had some drinks on Friday night, then I went out for Dim Sum on Saturday afternoon with Arlan and Chantelle. We ran into Kirk and Anne at the bakery, so we went to Amigo's for drinks. Then Saturday night, I hung out with my friend Kristen and a couple of her pals and we watched the UFC PPV. Then I got woken up at the ungodly hour of 11:30 by Rilla, asking me if I wanted to go to Crepe Club, which of course I did, so she and Jeff came and got me so we could go eat crepes. And I've got curling tonight, which is a fine way to cap off a fine weekend.

Of course, all of this fun-having has meant that I didn't get nearly enough sleep this weekend, which wouldn't be a big deal except that I hardly got any sleep LAST week, and I've done enough sleep-deprivation experiments on myself to know that I'm getting really close to that point where my body is going to completely shut down for like 3 days, just to show me what a tool I am.

I don't even remember the last time I felt well-rested. This blows.

Remix

Remember last time when I gave you those links to stuff I liked? Well, here's the super-extendo version of Mega Man.

I don't know why I find these sorts of things so satisfying. I'll give you another one, done by the same guy. It's the victory music from Final Fantasy.

Enjoy!

ps This is my favourite one yet!

T.I.V.

The TIV, or Tornado Intercept Vehicle, is now officially the COOLEST thing you can drive around. It takes it's place at the front of the line ahead of Airwolf, Kitt, Frankenstein's car from Death Race 2000 , and the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. Plus, it gets better gas mileage than a Hummer.

A Comic About Me

I read Married to the Sea every day, but today, Rilla read it before I did, and she sent me the link to today's installment. It seems to be about me...

I'd say that's a fairly accurate likeness.

Sore

I played hockey tonight, and now I'm super-extra sore. Some of it is that good got-some-exercise sore, but some of it is that bad shitty-knee and ankles-hate-me kind of sore.

I've been spending most of my free time playing Fallout 3, which has made me want to play Deadlands. Post-apocalypse is probably my favourite genre, and Fallout might be my favourite series of games, so I'm happy that Bethesda didn't screw the new one up now that they're at the helm.

I signed up for the Beta test of "Champions Online", so I've got that to look forward to. And my mom's car is FINALLY fixed (41 days later), so I'm not driving the rental car anymore, which means that I'm back to being a pedestrian. That sucks.

Not much else is new. I got to hang out with Tyson on the weekend, that was cool. And I'm kicking 10 kinds of ass in my hockey pool so far this year. I know it's early, but I've put together a pretty impressive string of victories in my Yahoo pool, and I'm way out in front. Brodeur's injury could fuck me, though, so that could bring me back to the pack.

Enough about me; how have you been?
